Born in Shanghai and educated in England, John Magee was impatient to take part in the war raging in Europe and decided to enlist in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Not long after he wrote the poem "High Flight" at age nineteen, he was killed in an air accident in Britainches This is the story of Magee against the background of the air battles of the Second World War.
