George Littlechild is a Plains Cree Métis artist who grew up in Alberta. His work in art began at age four, and an exceptional artistic talent provided refuge from racist taunts by fellow students and their parents. George Littlechild has an extensive body of work that includes collages of mixed media and is noted for bold colours and playful images that co-exist with serious undertones in his art. He is a spiritual person who works in a highly intuitive manner, a conduit for art that flows through him from his connection to nature and a spirituality that rises above the demonization of other cultures.
