Nancy, George and Bess are going to Paris on a vacation. They are staying in a tiny top-floor flat in a small three-story house on the Ile Saint Louis. The owner, Mimi Loiseau, lives on the second floor, while her puppet theatre, museum and shop are on the first. When puppets go missing and apartments are vandalized, Nancy wonders if it has something to do with unique family treasure Mimi's grandmother hinted at, but never got a chance to tell her before she died.
